Dog and Cat Vaccines
Vaccinating your pet is a simple procedure and is proven to save lives. Many diseases that were once fatal to dogs and cats are now under control due to modern vaccines. Vaccinating your pet is well worth the financial commitment
We, at Bulverde Animal Hospital, recommend dogs to be vaccinated for:
- DHPP: Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluence, and Parvo
- Bordetella -- Kennel Cough
- Rabies
- Optional vaccines are Rattlesnake and Lymes
Puppies should have at least 3 boosters of DHPP starting at 6 to 8 weeks of age, with the second and third boosters 3 to 4 weeks apart.
Adult dogs should be vaccinated yearly.
We, at Bulverde Animal Hospital, recommend cats to be vaccinated for:
- FVRCP: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Herpesvirus-1, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia, (commonly known as Feline Distemper)
- Feline Leukemia
